INTENTIONALITY FOR THIS EXHIBIT
TEXTS
Curatorial Text:
In this exhibition, Gaal D. Cohen presents a philosophy of existentialism by contrasting the sacred and the human. This research explores a realignment of cultures that goes beyond religion, doctrine, and history. For him, his fundamental adult quest has been the sincere attempt to answer these three essential questions: Where do you come from? Where are you going? and What is the purpose of life? Thanks to his understanding of duality, from the Eastern perspective, he connects the divine with the human as an earthly honor toward the feminine aspect of creation.
The images feature fusions between sacred artâfigures stripped of literal identityâand photographs of flowers. Followed by asking ChatGPT (AI) to create poems honoring those representations. This artistic exercise extends a discourse on the balance of creation and the humanity of technology. As a demonstration of Gaal's appreciation for sacred art, this project is a reminder that, among the diverse cultures of the world, humans have different ways of venerating the divine creation.
