Dialogue with Soumaya
I had two hours left in Mexico City before I had to go back to Guadalajara. Two hours I did not want to waste and that allowed me to discover the extraordinary piece of architecture that is the Soumaya museum.
Walking through the six floors at the speed of the trains I stopped at the second one, where I was astonished with the boldness of the curator of exposing the backside of some of the artworks, hanging from the ceiling.
With just two hours I couldn’t pay attention to all of the pieces of art, but I was able to elaborate a new one thinking about how contemporary it was to present the frame from behind. Keeping on with my marathon to the sixth floor I imagined the series in my mind and had to go back rapidly to the second one to photograph the information cards of the works, essential to complete the piece.
